NANKIN
The Nankin is an ancient breed thought to be one of the oldest known true bantams dating back to the 1500's in England. They were one of the foundation breeds used to develop more commonly known bantams, such as the Sebright. They are listed as threatened (just coming off the critically endangered list last year) and are very rarely found in the US. They are very calm, make good brooders and mothers and do well in smaller confinements. They are not cold hardy birds and need an insulated shelter in the colder states. They come in two varieties: rose comb and straight comb.
Sultan
The Sultan is a critically endangered breed of chicken. Highly ornamental with all the features, such as hock feathers, V-comb, beard, muffs, crest.
They require special attention due to their ornamental feathering. They do well in smaller pens. They are not typically foragers. My Sultans are standard size.

AYAM CEMANI
A rare breed from Indonesia. I am fortunate to have a great breeding trio to start my flock out from the Duck Hollow Farm line of Ayam Cemani. They have a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation (fibromelanosis), making it mostly black, including feathers, beak, bones, internal organs, etc. They are not yet recognized by the APA (American Poultry Association) so you won't see them in any shows. Their eggs are not black, but a cream color and a hen will typically produce 60-100 eggs per year. Rooster 4-7 lbs, hens 3-5 lbs. Calm and friendly but can be nervous. Not recommended for beginners.
MANDARIN DUCK
The Mandarin is a perching duck closely related to the American Wood duck. They are one of the most colorful of all ducks. The female lays nine to twelve eggs around Mar-Apr, incubated for 28 days then raises her young. The male watches over the nest while the hen is in with the egg.
